DRI answers call; Blockbuster remains open for business

January 2, 2009 News

According to a report in the Longmont Times-Call, Longmont police officers say that 37-year-old Steven Williams of Longmont was driving north at about 9:30 p.m. on a Saturday, just as traffic that had stopped at the red light was beginning to move again. According to police, Williams’ Dodge pickup cut through the curb lane, then the inside through lane and then partially into the left-turn lane for westbound 17th at a high rate of speed. As he did so, his truck rammed the back of a green Subaru Outback driven by 50-year-old Bruce Kline of Fort Collins.

The truck kept going. It hit a nearby power transformer, clipped the Cuppy’s Coffee building and then continued through the parking lot into the front of Blockbuster Video.

Under these circumstances, many business would be under the assumption that days, perhaps even weeks of business would be lost after having to close for remodeling.

But one call to Disaster Restoration, Inc. and Blockbuster was ready to greet customers the next . Pictured at right: Roy Rice (left) and Geoff Laubhan of DRI clean up glass outside the damaged Blockbuster Video store. Lewis Geyer/Times-Call
